AASHTOWare Safety utilizes the WisTransPortal data extracts for the DT4000 crash report dating back to 2017. Preliminary data is available to view and is updated on a nightly basis but is subject to ongoing review and editing and may not be suitable for analysis purposes. Crash records from before 2017 can be found on WisTransPortal.

Three main data tables provide crash data within AASHTOWare Safety:

  • Crash-level data

  • Person-level data

  • Vehicle-level data

These data tables were decoded within AASHTOWare Safety. The table below provides an overview of how the elements were decoded and any notes that may differ from the WisTransPortal data extracts.
