Users can use the Wisconsin Strategic Highway Safety Plan (SHSP) Emphasis Areas filter in Crash Query and Dashboards to filter by different SHSP emphasis areas.

When selecting multiple values within the same base filter, the system applies an “or” logic. This means a crash record that matches any of the selected values will be included. When selecting values across different base filters, the system applies an “and” logic. This means only crash records that meet all selected criteria across those filters will be included.

Apply the Crash Injury Severity Filter in addition to the Wisconsin SHSP Emphasis Area filter to filter by injury severity.

Filter values labeled (Crash-Level) are based on the crash dataset and count the number of crashes. Filter values labeled (Person-Level) draw from the person dataset and count the number of individuals involved in those crashes.

SHSP Filter Logic

The following outlines the logic for the values included in the Wisconsin SHSP Emphasis Areas filter in Crash Query and Dashboards.
