To define intersections in Network Screening - Intersections, Georgia DOT provided AASHTOWare Safety with its intersection geometry.

Georgia also has complex intersections, which are intersections that are made up of more than one junction.

(An example of a “Complex Intersection” in Georgia)

Min/Max Intersection Leg Length:

  • Minimum intersection leg length: 50 feet

  • Maximum intersection leg length: 300 feet

  • Although intersection legs can overlap with another intersection, Georgia DOT assigns crashes to a single intersection to avoid double-counting crashes.
