The Predictive Analysis application facilitates creating, managing, evaluating, and updating an agency’s Safety Performance Functions (SPFs) in an easily accessible interface.

Segments: Predictive Attributes

The following outlines GDOT’s chosen predictive attributes used to generate Optimal Fit SPF groupings for segments:

Urban/Rural

  • Atlanta Urbanized Area

  • Non-City / Non-incorporated Area

  • Other Urbanized Area

  • Rural City

Number of Lanes

  • 1, 2, or 3 Lanes

  • 4 Lanes

  • 5 or 6 Lanes

  • 7 or More Lanes

Functional Class

  • City Street

  • Collector Distributor & Ramps

  • Controlled Access

  • Public & County

  • State Mainline

Short Segment (<0.25 Miles)

  • Yes

  • No

Crash Attributes

  • All Crashes

  • KAB Crashes

  • CO Crashes

  • VRU Crashes

Requirements for Optimal Fit Creation

  • Minimum Crashes: 100

  • Minimum Segments: 50
