Alaska - How Intersections are Defined

Written by Lauren Miller

To define intersections in Network Screening - Intersections, Alaska Transportation & Public Facilities provided AASHTOWare Safety with its intersection center points, and our team created intersection legs.

Intersection Leg Length:

  • All intersection legs are 250 feet in length.

Intersection Legs:

  • If the leg is within 50 feet of the center of an intersection, it will be included in the intersection

  • If the legs of two different intersections overlap, the overlapping legs are cut short by the length of the overlap divided by 2
