This article guides users through performing an Advanced Intersection Network Screening for their jurisdictions.
1. Open Advanced Network Screening - Intersections
2. Set the sites to include in the screening to 2,500 by clicking on the gear icon in the top-right corner of the screen and typing in 2,500.
3. Narrow your search by clicking “Add Filter” in the top filter bar and applying the City (Geo) filter for your city.
4. Filter local roadways by applying the “State Owned / Locally Owned (Intersections)” filter and choosing “Locally Owned”
5. Rank the sites by the ICC performance measure by clicking on the ICC column header. The ranking column in your screening will be highlighted in gray and written on the map legend. Note: You may need to scroll horizontally to find the ICC column. Additionally, users can choose to rank the sites by a different performance measure if desired.
6. Click Hide/Show columns in the bottom left of the table to edit the columns that appear in the screening. Scroll through the available columns on the right side of the Hide/Show Column pop-up and click the plus sign to add the following columns:
AADT Max
AADT Min
Intersection Name (Intersection ID)
SPF Peer Group
Severity K Crashes
Severity A Crashes
Severity B Crashes
Severity C Crashes
Severity O Crashes
Once the columns are added, they will appear on the left side in the “Shown” section. Users can reorder the shown columns using the grid menu to the left of each added column. Once formatting is complete, click “Apply.”
7. To save your screening, click the “Save” button in the top right corner of the screen. To access your saved screenings, select the home button in the top-left corner of the Advanced Network Screening application.
8. Export the results as an XLSX file by clicking the “Export” button in the top-right corner of the screen and selecting “Worksheet (.xlsx).” This downloads an XLSX file that includes all locations in your screening and up to 20,000 rows of data. Note: Due to varying download queue times, it may take several minutes to export the XLSX file.
9. To download the Raw Table as a CSV file, click the “Download” button at the bottom of the screening table.
10. To investigate the crashes at the top location, click the number-one ranked intersection to open the intersection Fly Out menu. From the Fly Out menu, click “Open In” and select Crash Query to open the location in Crash Query.
