GDOT - Holiday Period Filter

This article summarizes the dates included in the Holiday Period filter for the Georgia Department of Transportation.

These filters are based on the recommendations of the National Safety Council (found here), following the logic outlined in the table below.

Additionally, GDOT has added the following holidays not listed on the National Safety Council recommendations: St. Patricks Day, Juneteenth, and Halloween.

2023/2024 Holiday Periods

New Year’s Day (2023)

Begins: 6 p.m., Friday, December 30, 2022

Ends: 11:59 p.m., Monday, January 2, 2023

St. Patricks Day (2023)

Begins: 12:00 a.m., Friday, March 17

Ends: 11:59 p.m., Friday, March 17

Memorial Day (2023)

Begins: 6:00 p.m., Friday, May 26

Ends: 11:59 p.m., Monday, May 29

Juneteenth (2023)

Begins: 12:00 a.m., Monday, June 19

Ends: 11:59 p.m., Monday, June 19

Independence Day (2023)

Begins: 6:00 p.m., Friday, July 30

Ends: 11:59 p.m., Tuesday, July 4

Labor Day (2023)

Begins: 6:00 p.m., Friday, September 1

Ends: 11:59 p.m., Monday, September 4

Halloween (2023)
