WisDOT – Spatial and Asset Data Inventory

This article outlines what asset information and spatial datasets are within AASHTOWare Safety and their update frequency.

AASHTOWare Safety integrates crash data and other datasets to enhance safety analyses.

There are several different datasets included in AASHTOWare Safety:

  • Required Data

    • Crash Records

    • Segment Data

    • Intersection Data

  • Supplemental Data

    • Geographic Data (e.g., Political Boundaries, Organizational Boundaries)

    • Asset Data (e.g., Bridges, Barrier Systems)

Supplemental Data sources can be used in several different ways:

  1. Tied directly to individual crash records

  2. Created as a Geo-Boundary, which allows users to filter/search based on specified distances

  3. Created as a map layer for viewing
